Created by ichiro iwasaki design produced by kyocera, the lotta has a 2.8-inch LCD that comes with built-in GPS and an e-wallet function that allows users to pay for items like subway fare. Daytimer - A new product from Alessi that features an OLED screen tilted towards the wearer by its plastic shell. A smart, adaptable docile form which encases it's technological core while at the same time it is ironic and natural. Leica M8 - This special limited edition white leather finish is one heck of an eye-catcher. Limited to just 275 pieces with special serial numbers assigned exclusively to the cameras, the Leica M8 has control elements finished in silver chrome while the rest of the set is finished in white paint. Wattcher - This is a product that monitors domestic electricity use so as to encourage users to reduce their energy usage. The device plugs into any 2 pin electrical socket and displays electrical consumption. Designed by Marcel Wanders Studio for Dutch company Innovaders, Wattcher is not just a product but a way to stimulate awareness. I think its a really interesting product to keep track on just how much electricity one is wasting daily and a much designed product than the ones we have in Singapore situated outside every household. Cool Beer - Isn't that what every Beer lover want? Homer Simpson could be a spokesperson for this device as it instantly chill a beverage without using any ice by using liquid CO2 to turn a warm beverage into a cold one within seconds. It eliminates the need for hauling around those huge coolers to the beach or to a barbecue. It could also save space in your refrigerator by not having to put huge cases of beer or other drink. Most importantly, it does not dilute the drink unlike ice. The inventor of this device is 22 year old Kent Hodgson explains the technology in his own words, "You have plastic cooling cells which are pressed down into the dock which houses the liquid carbon dioxide. The liquid CO2 expands and is pressurized into dry ice in the base of the cooling cells ... in a moment. You then pop it into your drink and then proceed from there as you normally would." The device is almost the size of a marker and is expected to cool a case of beer with one canister of CO2. Its estimated to cost 7 cents to cool one bottle of beer. Forgot to mention that his invention is called Huski and Kent is currently showing his device at an exhibit at the Design Exposure 2007 at Britomart Pavilion. He is working on patenting the device and is expected to retail it for $50. Nice invention~
