Cloverfield

Synopsis: Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

Review: Tired of monster movie? Well then you have to give this movie a try because it will rock you. This is no ordinary monster movie as the whole film is shot in a handy cam method. Got to warn you first, you could get dizzy after a few minutes of watching as the handy cam is being toggled around. But on the whole its a brilliant movie about a mysterious monster attacking New York City and how 5 people managed to get through the ordeal. Love it or not, its a definite classic. If you find that most monster movies are tampered with too much CGI, well this movie will make the whole monster ride as real as you want it. It also has a story within the story, watch it and you'll understand. Before I end, I must say kudos to the creators of LOST as they have certainly produced something out of this world, they have taken something old and dull and turned it into something so surreal and fresh. Hats off.
