Juno

Synopsis - Juno is a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Bleeker. With the help of her hot best friend Leah, Juno finds her unborn child a "perfect" set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark and Vanessa, longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs.

Review - Woohoo finally got to watch this splendid film. Was a bit skeptical about this film initially because of all the nominations and expectations, most films with great expectations fall short after I watched them but hey this film delivered. Was very comfortable with how the story developed and the performance Ellen Page gave was stellar. Love those little animations that depicted the season and quirky little details that were injected into the film. They made the whole sensitive plot so easy to swallow and the music was also very helpful. One downside of the film though was that it was sub-real that it pulled strings with idealism. I mean the story is like one smooth ride for teen pregnancy, imagine in Singapore and probably some other countries, a 16 year old being knocked up and walking around with a big tummy in school isn't what our current society can handle. Amid all the stares, the one with the tummy will end up in serious depression and opt for the inevitable. So this movie is kind of an encouragement for all but still you should still wear a condom if you do not want to conceive. Thumbs up for those involved in this production and if you haven't watch this film, what are you waiting for? Go watch it!
