MTV Raps.” The popular program was an early supporter of rap by celebrating its rich legacy — featuring Doctor Dre and Ed Lover, Big Daddy Kane, MC Shan and Doug E. Fresh — all of those who fathered the Golden Age of Hip-Hop. PUMA will honor these artists and the show with a collection of fresh apparel and shoes in typical PUMA style known as the YO! MTV Raps Limited Edition Artist collection.
Based on the signature PUMA Clyde and Suede silhouettes, styles embraced by hip-hop and street culture in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s, PUMA has created four limited edition styles specific to each of the artist who were the show’s legendary hosts. Zouk goes “Old Skool” – a tribute to the spirit of rap and its founding influences – complete with a banging street party, that includes an in-house “backyard” BBQ akin to the urban city “block parties” where rap music gained its early roots.
