Sessantuna by Gaetano Pesce for Cassina

Sessantuna - An idea to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. 61 icons that only resemble each other and remain totally different. 61 tables to represent the year 1861 in which the Italian Unification was completed. Each is made in resin in the colours of the iconic Italian flag. 5 of them are decorated by Pesce with significant historical phrases and are to be auctioned in London and New York till June 2011. The remainder will be sold through a silent online auction, ending 2 June 2011 and customised with a phrase chosen by each purchaser. Something to help Europe in crisis? Maybe. Ted Talk: John Underkoffler points to the future of UI

User Interface - If you dig the film Minority Report and how Tom Cruise played with the data interface in it. Well you are going to love this guy, John Underkoffler, who is the inventor of it. A point and touch interface called g-speak which looks set to become the next operating system for computers in the next 5 years.

Vinyl Workout by Theo Watson

Vinyl Workout - Interactive project that transforms the floor into a digital record player. A giant record player is projected onto the floor and controlled by running around on top of the surface. The record responds to the speeds of the running as well as the direction, playing slow if you walk around slowly and playing backwards if you move counter clockwise. Interesting application if used for fitness. Love the music haha. DAFT PUNK! Check out the video below or click here for more info.

Utada Hikaru - Passion (Live) (Utada United 2006)

Passion - One of my favourite from her countless hits. Theme song for Kingdom Hearts II. A song about transition. From youngsters to adults. The fading of one's childhood to move forward to the future. Watch it in HD. No regrets.

Nujabes - Battle Cry (Samurai Champloo Opening 1) (Featuring tschutchie, Fat Jon, Force of Nature, Shing02)

Battlecry - Tribute to the myth, the legend, the one and only. Nujabes. Rest in peace. Thank you for all those memories and solace.

sharp like an edge of a samurai sword
the mental blade cut through flesh and bone
though my mind's at peace, the world out of order
missing the inner heat, life gets colder
oh yes, I have to find my path
no less, walk on earth, water and fire
the elements compose a magnum opus
my modus operandi is amalgam steel packed tight in micro
chip on my armor a sign of all-pro
the ultimate reward is honor not awards
at odds with the times in wars with no Lords, a Freelancer
a battle cry of a hawk make a dove fly and a tear dry
wonder why a lone wolf don't run with a klan
only trust your instincts and be one with the Plan

some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the way of the Samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battle cry

some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the name of the Samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battle cry, battle cry

look, just the air around him
an aura surrounding the heir apparent
he might be a peasant but shine like grand royalty
he to the people and land, loyalty
we witness above all to hear this,
sea sickness in the ocean of wickedness
set sail to the sun set no second guessing
far east style with the spirit of wild west
the "quote-unquote" code stands the test of
time for the chosen ones to find the best of
noble minds that ever graced the face of
a hemisphere with no fear, fly over
the blue yonder where
the sky meets the sea
and eye meets no eye
and boy meets world
and became a man to serve the word
to save the day, the night, and the girl too

some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the way of the Samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battle cry

some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the name of the Samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battle cry, battle cry

Fine Collection of Curious Sound Objects by George Reil and Kathy Scheuring

Fine Collection of Curious Sound Objects - Really love this work. Each object has a little story to tell with its magical character imbued into it. Things you never thought could be associated with certain objects are reintroduced with the help of sounds. Inspiring and what's more they are all in uniform black finishing. Awesome. 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Medals by Corrine Hunt and Omer Arbel

Vancouver 2010 - Doubt many of us would be aware of this sporting event but whenever there is such an event, I see opportunities for design. This year for the Winter Olympics, the medals are pretty interesting. Featuring artwork by Corrine Hunt and Omer Arbel, the medals were cast from metals recovered from discarded computer motherboards. Sustainable. Why not.

Mario Basanov & Vidis – I’ll Be Gone (Featuring Jazzu)

I'll be gone - Needed my house fix and found one. Love the song and the video. Simple and no strings attached.

i'll be gone
i'll be gone
i'll be gone
i'll be gone

days pass
for now I remain
but one day the time will come when I will see no longer stay
can no longer refrain

days pass
for now I remain
but one day the time will come when I will see no longer stay
can no longer refrain

will take you with me to those places
where we can laugh out loud all night and I
i will dance you in the morning dew
just me and you

will take you with me to those places
where we can laugh out loud all night and I
i will dance you in the morning dew
just me and you

days pass
for now I remain
but one day the time will come when I will see no longer stay
can no longer refrain

days pass
for now I remain
but one day the time will come when I will see no longer stay
can no longer refrain
