Michael Clayton

Synopsis - Michael Clayton is an in-house "fixer" at one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. A former criminal prosecutor, Clayton takes care of Kenner, Bach & Ledeen's dirtiest work at the behest of the firm's co-founder Marty Bach. Though burned out and hardly content with his job as a fixer, his divorce, a failed business venture and mounting debt have left Clayton inextricably tied to the firm. At U/North, meanwhile, the career of litigator Karen Crowder rests on the multi-million dollar settlement of a class action suit that Clayton's firm is leading to a seemingly successful conclusion. But when Kenner Bach's brilliant and guilt-ridden attorney Arthur Edens sabotages the U/North case, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.

Review - Not really interested in legal movies or corporate battles but George Clooney is inside and he has an interesting role in this one. A fixer, hm, who does the dirty work for a law firm and drives a Benz but is having personal problems, who ends up uncovering a big case in which his old friend has a big part to play. Conscience is a word for this movie and I mean most lawyers are creating quite a buzz nowadays when consultant fees are so high, ever wondered what are lawyers really doing behind the scene? Haha very nice movie, can understand why George Clooney is nominated for this role. Started with a bang and ended off with one too. Pay close attention to the dialogues from the starting and slowly you will understand the film. Oops hopefully that's not a spoiler.
