GrandStand: Chelsea Vs Manchester United

GrandStand - Well I'm not a fan of either football clubs but I was informed about this public showing of a title decider soccer match between Chelsea and Manchester United at Clarke Quay by my Espn correspondent Edgar haha. Not really a title decider if you do the mathematics correctly because basically the title is for Manchester United to lose. So me and HQ went there early to get a good seat for our viewing pleasure before CT and Edgar arrived and the first impression I had of the place was rather good because the monitor was gigantic for words (well anything bigger than my house television is huge for me haha). The seats were also colourised to sort out the respective fans (well not much to sort out since Chelsea fans are kind of rare and those who turned up and sat at the Chelsea corner were either Liverpool or Arsenal fans) and there were Tiger Girls who would go around promoting Tiger Beer (they were a nuisance because they actually asked for my identification card and HQ's and they kept moving around so much during the match that they blocked our view). Can't understand why they were so hard on promoting the beer when nobody wants to drink it. Back to the match and Chelsea drew first blood with Michael Ballack's header but Wayne Rooney hit back with a great effort thanks to some poor defending by Chelsea. Just when you thought that the match was going to be a draw, there was a controversial penalty given to Chelsea and Michael Ballack neatly converted it (he's my man of the match). Interestingly when Chelsea scored, there were actually blue shades of lights being shone around and when Manchester United scored, red shades of lights were shone. The place was also a pressure cooker because of the temperature (probably due to the beer too) and intensity of the match. Chelsea won in the end but honestly I felt that even though Manchester United put on a second string side, they still managed to push Chelsea to the very end so if you ask me who will lift the trophy, I would still say its Manchester United's title to lose. By the way the event was hosted by Espn Stars Jaime Yeo and PJ Roberts and they did a pretty good job to entertain the crowd during pre-game and half time with quizzes and a beer drinking competition. It was a great experience to watch a football match with close to a hundred or hundred plus people and I would definitely attend a similar event given the opportunity.
