New ATP Tour World Number One: Rafael Nadal

Number One - Finally Nadal has become the world number one after one of the most well deserved and hard earned run ups to the top of the game in Open era history. Always been associated with the number two ranking due to Roger Federer's dominance over the years but after the two defeats at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, it seemed that Federer's reign just could not hold off Nadal's terrific form this year any longer. To top it off, Nadal also won the gold medal for Spain at the Beijing Olympics. The Spaniard is currently just too good for words if you watch his plays and I hope that this would start a long reign for the right hander who uses his left hand to dominate tennis.
