Hana by Shige Hasegawa Design

Hana - Means flower in Japanese. Tokyo designer Shige Hasegawa has come out with a lamp and table called Hana. The lamp, called Hana Stretch, is made of iron frame and stretch fabric which has zipper and can be taken off and washed. The Hana table is made of 5 plywood petal-shaped legs slotted through a glass top and it features no screws or nails to hold the glass, making it easy for packing. Both lamp and table are designed by using Origami technique. The flower concept is really dope for me in terms of its visceral appeal. Both designs can really be a conversation topic and the fact that Origami technique is used, it makes both design very Japanese in a traditional yet unique way with the use of fabric and wood.
