Nujabes' Modal Soul

Modal Soul - Just got my hands on this piece of art, well at least its a piece of art to my ears. First heard about Nujabes when I watched Samurai Champloo and I was rather captivated by his music. So I decided to give this album a try and it turned out really well. A combination of hip hop, soul and slow cool jazz is what you can get from this album and it helps to put your mind at ease something like lush music. I like the fact that first half of the album is filled with slow beats and vocals, mostly raps while the second is more instrumental and lush with no vocals. Very soothing. For your info, Nujabes is an anagram of Jun Seba spelled backwards and combined. He is a Japanese hip hop music producer and DJ as well as a composer and arranger. Besides making music, he is also an owner of T Records and Guinness Records and runs Hydeout Productions. The enigmatic charm in his music is what draw many to his music and if you want to experience this album go check it out. More info on Nujabes here.
